A message from the Associate Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer.

May 6, 2024

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that the submission period for 2025 strategic IT initiatives is now open.

This marks the beginning of a new annual cycle for IT planning and governance, closely aligned with McMaster’s strategic goals and endorsed by the university’s senior leadership.

Important Details:

  • Submission Period: Open now until July 14, 2024.
  • Eligibility: Open to all faculty and staff. We welcome proposals that require support from institutional technology systems, data, security or technical teams.
  • Sponsorship Requirement: Each proposal must be sponsored by an Associate Vice President or Dean.
  • Review Process:
    • Summer: Proposals undergo an assessment.
    • Fall: Reviews by IT Governance Standing Committees.
    • December 2024: Planning and scheduling of prioritized projects.

Funding Note: The IT Governance framework is not a funding source. Proposals should have identified or secured necessary budgets.

How to Submit a Proposal: Visit the MacITGo SharePoint site for detailed information on the proposal submission guidelines and support resources. MacITGo is a new service model designed to help you navigate the IT governance process.

Call to Action: Ensure your proposal is submitted by the deadline of July 14, 2024, to be considered for the 2025 IT governance planning cycle. For questions or further clarification, contact macitgo@mcmaster.ca.

We look forward to your proposals as we advance the IT landscape at McMaster together.

Best regards,

Gayleen Gray

Associate Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
