A reminder to add IT security to your spring cleaning checklist
With exams approaching and the Winter 2022 term near conclusion, McMaster welcomes the start of spring! Spring brings a new energy to campus as warmer weather and longer days approach. Additionally, as we conclude another winter term, that means many of us may start the annual task of spring cleaning.
Spring is a perfect time to embrace and address IT Security spring cleaning as well. Improving IT security is a great opportunity to re-assess a variety of subjects including enhancing IT security when working from home or on campus.
IT security is a core objective of our McMaster IT Strategic Plan and we often highlight the importance of everyone at McMaster doing their part to keep our working environments safe. Cyber security initiatives are continuous on campus, which includes projects like the institutional implementation of multi-factor authentication.
Higher Ed IT has a variety of unique security challenges, but McMaster must address these concerns to manage many potential risks associated with IT Security. Check out McMaster’s remote cyber security checklist for additional resources.
The arrival of spring coincides with an IT Security refresh. Be proactive this spring and protect yourself and those you work with. There is no better feeling than knowing your information and data is safe and secure!
