Work from home tip: Recommended service for added malware protection
PAUL MUIR, IT SECURITY MANAGER AND INFORMATION SECURITY OFFICER, McMASTER UNIVERSITY
The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) has launched a service called Canadian Shield that offers additional protection against malware and phishing threats for those who are working from home. The service is free, but does require a little configuration on your home router in order to deploy.
Review the CIRA website for details on how this service works and how to set it up for your home.
We highly recommend this service! It is free, easy to configure, and provides added protection when working remotely. Also, other individuals in your home will benefit from the added protection. Set it up for yourself, then reach out to let us know how it is working for you!
