Launching in honour of International Women’s Day, McMaster University’s Women in Tech: Spring 2026 Series celebrates the women who are shaping innovation, research and technology across our community.

Dr. Esther Chin

Dr. Chin is an assistant professor and Global Health Lead with McMaster’s Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology. She also serves as Clerkship Director (Obstetrics/Gynecology) with the Department of Undergraduate Medical Education and is the founding Program Director of the Graduate Diploma in Global Surgery at the Mary Heersink School of Global Health & Social Medicine. She is also an Adjunct Professor, Branch for Global Surgical Care, Faculty of Medicine with the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Milena Head

Dr. Milena Head is a professor of Information Systems at McMaster University. She is also the Wayne C. Fox Chair in Business Innovation and the Director of the McMaster Digital Transformation Research Centre. She also serves as the Director of McMaster’s EMBA Program.

Malaika Manda

Malaika is a Combined Honors Economics & Political Science student at McMaster University. She is also President of the McMaster Social Sciences Society for the 2025-26 academic year.

Dr. Karin Stephenson

Dr. Karin Stephenson is Director of Nuclear Research and Education Support at McMaster University.

Dr. Gailene Tobin Vendenheuvel

Dr. Gailene Tobin Vandenheuvel is the Chief Executive Officer of McMaster Innovation Park (MIP).

Dr. Stephanie Verkoeyen

Dr. Stephanie Verkoeyen is McMaster University’s Special Advisor, Generative AI.
