Every year, University Technology Services (UTS) hosts an annual Summer Day event to forge new connections, celebrate achievements, look to the future, and most importantly…have fun!

The all-day event brings together the whole UTS team and various distributed IT partners across campus, providing folks with a chance to venture out of the office and enjoy a day with their colleagues. This year was no exception!

After a brief introduction, attendees proceeded to one of their two pre-selected activities: play video games, tour the art museum and make art, tour the LIVElab facility, or play board games.

Following lunch, a mid-year update from AVP/CTO Gayleen Gray, and a surprise ice cream break, attendees were all ready to play some games- Scattergories and Headbandz! After playing against their tablemates, each table banded together as a team to compete against other tables in a winner-takes-all McMaster quiz!

Each participant at the winning table received a miniature trophy and a McMaster mug, while those who donated a non-perishable item were also entered into a raffle draw with prizes.

Overall, Summer Day 2024 provided a chance to celebrate the incredible UTS team and all the amazing work they do behind the scenes to deliver seamless and transformative technologies for the entire campus community.

Be sure to peruse the event photos below. See you at Summer Day 2025!
