McMaster IT celebrated at 6th annual IT Forum
For the sixth year in a row, McMaster’s IT community came together at the annual IT Forum to learn, network, and celebrate successes together.
Taking place over four days, this year’s Forum was a unique blend of over 25 virtual and in-person sessions attended by nearly 200 individuals throughout the course of the week.
The IT Forum kicked off with a dynamic armchair discussion featuring Gayleen Gray, McMaster’s AVP and CTO, and Helen Patton, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Cisco’s Security Business Group. The two discussed various topics including cybersecurity, leadership, women in technology, mental health and well-being, and personal growth.
After twenty-four virtual IT Showcase Sessions and online networking sessions, the IT Forum featured an in-person Leadership Panel Discussion on McMaster IT Strategy, moderated by Gayleen Gray.
This year’s IT Forum marked the wrap up of McMaster’s IT Strategic Plan which was launched in early 2019. In her closing remarks at the Forum, Gayleen provided an overview of how McMaster’s IT vision and pillars will remain embedded in McMaster’s collective efforts to achieve the goals outlined in the McMaster Strategic Plan.
This year’s IT Forum was a great way to celebrate the McMaster IT community and its enduring impact on McMaster University. Thanks to everyone who attended one – or all – of the sessions throughout the week!
