Student Ancillary Fees Opt-Out

This project will implement the changes mandated by the Provincial Government that students be allowed to opt out of non-essential ancillary (supplementary) fees. This change is required by June 1, 2019 when students register for courses for the 19/20 academic year.

Goals of this project include:

  • Opt-out process that is acceptable to student governments, McMaster University and compliant with MTCU rules and is in place by Delivery by June 1, 2019.
  • Recognition from all stakeholders that this is a very short time to put in a very large change, and that a post implementation review may be required and result in more changes next year to improve process.
  • No manual processes required to track or amend opt-out memberships.
