McMaster University teaching and learning technologies should provide effective learning experiences, enhance student life, and support instructors in delivering engaging course materials. The current Avenue to Learn (Avenue) Learning Management System (LMS) processes fall short of reaching these goals, adding to student stress and instructor frustration. The Up-to-Date Course and Instructor Data initiative is a foundational piece in a series of planned improvements aimed at increasing effectiveness to improve student and instructor experiences.

The Up-to-date Course and Instructor Data initiative will ensure data entered into Mosaic, including course and instructor information, appears in Avenue within minutes, not days, that every faculty member has the correct access, and support staff have more time to devote to training faculty and staff. Targeted data improvements include student enrolment data as well as instructor course requests.
